Congratulations Another SMAB Baby

We are pleased to announce that Mrs Wood gave birth to a little boy, named Noah Alexander Wood on Thursday 5th December. Mum and baby are doing very well. I’m sure you will join with us in wishing the family well as they enjoy time together.

Community Breakfast

It was a pleasure to open up our school again for another Community Breakfast!

With ‘An inclusive Christian community’ being a part of our vision statement, it is crucial to us to offer an opportunity for networking and communicating with others to support this. We hold our community very dear to our hearts and cherish the support from all parents, carers and family who attend. The atmosphere of this morning fosters a sense of pride within our school and truly emulates the feeling of being part of our community.  The theme of this breakfast was Christmas! We looked at the religious and secular meaning of Christmas and prompted conversations on how different families may celebrate or not celebrate at all. This theme allowed for the RE curriculum to be extended from the classroom and into the local community.

With tea, coffee and pastries, everybody was able to share a special time and socialise with one another. We also had a special performance from our school choir – thank you very much to Mrs Monico who works exceptionally hard with these children weekly. To conclude our breakfast, Chanti (5E) and Fr Simon wrote and read inspiring prayers for us all to share together and reflect on our time together and everyone in our school community.

I would like to say a massive thank you to all who attended and made this morning so special for us all. We were overwhelmed with the support from parents and staff, who made this possible. – Miss Pascarella

Harvest Celebration

The whole school community walked up to St Cuthbert’s Church to celebrate harvest. Each adult and child took at least one item to donate to the local food bank, which supports families who struggle to provide food and other things they need to live well.

Josiah gave a sermon, linking the Lord’s Prayer to harvest time and several pupils and staff read prayers or gave readings.

Thank you, SMAB community, for your generosity in helping others to live successful lives.
