School Information

A very warm welcome to our wonderful school!

St Michael at Bowes CE Junior School is a very special school. We are an inclusive junior school with families from almost every country and faith in the world. We provide our children with a safe and exciting environment where they are encouraged and supported to develop their academic, physical, spiritual, moral, social and cultural lives – all this within a setting rooted in our Christian values. We support each child to develop a deep and secure understanding and respect for their own traditions and faith and expect them to value those of others.

We recognise and value the rich linguistic and cultural diversity in our school and the local community and capitalise on this within our bespoke curriculum offer. We work tirelessly as a team to ensure that each child excels in their achievements and has the skills, independence and initiative to become positive role models and citizens of the world.

St Michael at Bowes is a Rights Respecting School, where children are taught their rights according to the United Nations Conventions of the Rights of a Child (UNCRC). These key principles, along with our curriculum drivers, underpin the work of whole school.

At St Michael at Bowes CE Junior School we never underestimate the power of creating and maintaining strong links between home and school. The goal we share is the desire to ensure that the time your child spends with us is happy, safe,  worthwhile and fun.

This website provides key information about the school. It is designed to give you a flavour of our school, its aims, and the curriculum that we offer, along with the important information all families need to know when their child begins a new school. We hope you will find it useful.
